Mission Statement for M+M+M

The mission of “Music and Medicine on Monday” (M+M+M) is to provide an open on-line website Music and Medicine on Monday at the University of Iowa - Schedule of Events | Iowa Head and Neck Protocols (uiowa.edu) supplemented with videos and podcasts to educate teachers, students, musicians, and music-lovers how ‘to play and to stay healthy’. 

The M+M+M program is part of a larger the website (Iowa Head and Neck Protocols (uiowa.edu) which has expanded from its initial goal to provide clinically relevant information to health care providers. It now is also directed to others with an interest in medically related topics – including musicians.  Daily updates are performed to the Iowa Head and Neck Protocols by health care providers at the University of Iowa under the supervision of the Iowa Protocols Review Committee (IPRC). This committee is comprised of members of the University of Iowa Otolaryngology Department including the clinic administrator.

Support for the Iowa Head and Neck Protocols comes from institutional grants and donations listed in the navigation panel on each page (List of Donors). The Department of Otolaryngology, the School of Music, and the University of Iowa wish to acknowledge the support of those who share our educational goal. The University of Iowa appreciates that supporting benefactors recognize the University of Iowa's need for autonomy in the development of the content of the Iowa Head and Neck Protocols.
